The word AWESOME can be a word that easily loses its meaning because we tend to overuse it! I know I am personally guilty of this. But, recently in the process of developing a list of personal affirmations to “speak over myself”, I was prompted to look the word up. Here are some of the synonyms:
AWESOME
synonyms (breathtaking, awe-inspiring, magnificent, wonderful, amazing, stunning, staggering, imposing, stirring, impressive; formidable, fearsome, dreaded; mind-boggling, mind-blowing, jaw-dropping, excellent, marvelous)
When I saw what it actually means, I was very surprised. However, I was also rebuked within when I was asked “have you EVER consistently thought all of these things when you thought of YOURSELF?” I had to admit that outside of someone else’s prompting, I hadn’t maintained a powerful self perspective on my own. I was more attracted to the SHAME in my perspective. However, as I continued to look at this list of synonyms and open myself to the possibility of ALL of them referring to me, a healing started taking place. These words began to resonate. I began to think:
“What fruit will my life manifest today due to the fact that I AM all of these things?”
As we affirm these synonyms to ourselves today, may the corresponding disciplines of these synonyms also speak to us and be developed into habits by us so that our character reflects the AWESOMENESS that WE ARE!
